Jomon’s Breeze is a symbolic depiction of spiritual ascension, blending Japan’s ancient cultural heritage with universal themes of transformation, purification, and cosmic connection.

At its center, the さざれ石 (Sazare-Ishi) forms a tunnel-like gateway, inviting viewers to embark on a time slip into the Jomon era. This journey represents a profound connection to Japan’s prehistoric past, allowing one to experience the ancient wisdom and spiritual practices of this deeply rooted civilization. The passage through the tunnel symbolizes a transformative leap across time, bridging the modern world with the essence of the Jomon period.

The artwork incorporates pyramids, believed to have been constructed from natural mountains and used as bases for cosmic communication in ancient Japan. These pyramids serve as markers of humanity’s timeless quest to connect with the universe. Surrounding the Sazare-Ishi, the Katakamuna script—a cosmological system dating back over 12,000 years—appears as sacred glyphs that embody universal harmony and multidimensional energy, amplifying the artwork’s resonance with the cosmos.

At the apex of the composition, the Shakō Doki (遮光土器) stands as a guardian of the passage. This prehistoric clay figure, often linked to the wisdom of lost civilizations and even extraterrestrial beings, emphasizes the Jomon people’s spiritual and cosmic awareness. Flowing water in the foreground symbolizes purification and renewal, while the dynamic interplay of light and color creates a timeless, transformative experience that connects viewers with the distant past and the universal energies of the cosmos.
